From a clump of green and cream variegated foliage rise stems bearing pale blue, sometimes white flowers in late spring and early summer. In spring the new foliage is often flushed with pink. Flowers are attractive to pollinating insects.

Prefers a moisture retentive but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Cut back after flowering to promote a new flush of foliage and subsequent flowers.
